About Me

I was born and raised in Trenton, Missouri. I served as senior class president and received all-state honors in football, baseball, and track & field at Trenton High School. I received a full ride to Northwest Missouri State University to play football. During the football season I found Jesus Christ as my personal Savior while attending Navigators Bible Studies. Feeling a call on my life for Christian service, I transferred to Central Bible College and received a bachelor's degree in 1975.  While attending CBC, I lettered in basketball and tennis for four years. I met my wife, Cheryl, who was a cheerleader.

Mobile, Alabama was the start of my teaching and coaching career. I taught Algebra, Physical Education, Driver’s Training, and served as Athletic Director over the next several years. I also served as head football, basketball, and baseball coach.  Baseball being part of my family's tradition, I started my college baseball-umpiring career in the Southeast Conference. Since that time I have worked in all levels of baseball and basketball, nationally and internationally.

My first school administration experience came in 1981 in Oklahoma City where Cheryl and I started a Christian school from a Summer Day Camp program.  I attended Northwest Missouri State University, Southwest Missouri State University graduate school, University of South Alabama graduate school, University of Oklahoma graduate school, University of Las Vegas graduate school and Arkansas Tech University graduate school. I served as a Superintendent of Schools for 12 years and Head Administrator for 11 years.

Over my 23 years of school administration, I have started schools from 0 students, and have worked at a Christian School of 2,000 students. I have started summer prep camps in each of the schools, which have grown to attendance of 500 campers. I implemented two lap-top programs-- radio stations in house--dual enrollment for students to earn both high school and college credit at the same time--designed Bible curriculums—set up an International Department with sister schools in several nations--implemented a winter session offering 68 classes, internships, nine mission trips,  and developed four building expansions.

I have taken five schools through the accreditation process. I have served on ACTS National Accreditation Board, chaired and served on many accreditation teams for ACTS, ACSI, and WACS and at State level. I have presented local, regional and national seminars and workshops on Starting Summer Day Camps, Marketing Your School, Laptop School Startup, Publications 101, Fundraising for the 21st Century, and Jan Term for Your High School.

Cheryl and I have a daughter and son-in-law who live in Hollywood, CA with a granddaughter. We left Superintendence at Rockford Christian Schools in Illinois and came to Monte Vista Christian School in 2004, and enjoy being closer to family here.
