The ARC Mission
The primary goals of the Academic Research Center are to promote information literacy, support the curriculum, and provide a setting where students can feel inspired in their academic pursuits. Through both formal and informal instruction, the ARC plays a crucial role in helping to prepare students for academic success at the college level. Students develop their skills in accessing and utilizing digital information with the aid of current technology, including subscription databases and web-based resources.
The ARC strives to meet the academic needs of a diverse student body by providing resources on a wide range of levels, and also giving the students the necessary tools to become lifelong learners in a socially and globally connected world. We seek to promote reading and the sense of wonder and connection which literature can provide. In these ways, the ARC endeavors to help each student develop a foundation for further education. The Academic Research Center reflects the reality of how students do research--a reality that goes beyond the book stacks and embraces the digital future.
Highlights of our dynamic Academic Research Center:
It’s our hope that the Academic Research Center will become one of the most-used spaces on campus. It will be a hub where students and faculty gather to learn and explore together. We want to encourage, inspire and excite our students about learning in the 21st century.
