1.  CLASS SCHEDULE

High School Day Students:

 Middle School Students:

Elective Selection: Mr. Blute, Middle School Principal, will place students in the appropriate grade level courses. An email message will be sent to you by the end of June to explain the elective course selections and the process for requesting electives for 1st quarter of 2013-2014.

Go to Middle School Documents to view Monte Vista Middle School's Curriculum, the electives that are offered to Middle School students, and for instructions on how to select electives via FOCUS (our student database), and other information to prepare for the new school year (supply lists, etc.).  These documents will be updated for the next school year by June 10.

2.  MEDICAL/EMERGENCY INFORMATION  
All Parents/Guardians:

  • Immunization Requirements:   All families must be in compliance with California Immunization Requirements.  
  • Emergency/Medical Information:
    • Day Student Families: You will need your Parent/Guardian Username and Password for Focus in order to fill out this page.  Please go to Parent Focus Users' Guide for instructions on how to complete your student's Emergency/Medical Information. 

·         Boarding Student Families: Please go to Boarding Student Forms to complete the necessary boarding requirements.

 3.  DIPLOMA VERIFICATION (Seniors only)

  • Parents of 2013-2014 SENIORS:  Please log in to FOCUS and verify your student's name on the DIPLOMA VERIFICATION tab in FOCUS.  This is the name that will be printed on your student's diploma.

 What's next....

Please click on each topic for more information on that subject. Please note that for some information for the upcoming school year will not be updated until mid June.

Athletics:  Check the website for all fall sports and for significant dates and requirements.  A sports physical is available on campus on May 16, 2013.  Weight training will begin on May 28 (for returning high school students) and on June 10 (for incoming Freshmen).  Click here for information and dates specific to each fall sport:  Football - Volleyball.  The fall season officially begins on August 10, 2013. 

Bus:  Transportation information, registration packets, and route descriptions will be available for 2013-2014 in early summer at the link above.  Most routes do not change significantly this school year.  However, the Scotts Valley route (#4) will see changes to improve route access – this information will also be available in early summer.

Community Service (High School students):  Forms may be obtained in Student Services or printed off the website.  Pre-authorization for your service project is required (a quick email to your advisor may satisfy your pre-authorization).  You can start accumulating Community Service hours during the summer.

FACTS:  Families that have not paid their tuition in full by July 1 will be enrolled in FACTS Tuition Management for monthly installments.

Horsemanship Program:  Arrangements to take Horsemanship during the school year should be made by request to your College & Career Advisor (high school students) or Mr. Blute (middle school students).  For information on the program, please contact Cassie Belmont at MVEquestrian@gmail.com.

iPads:  iPads will be distributed prior to the beginning of the school year.  Your iPad contract may be submitted and your insurance paid at the Business Office.  The contract is available online (at the link above).

Lockers:  Locker assignments will be available on Focus toward the end of the summer.

Parking Permits:  Students must have a vehicle parking permit in order to park on campus.  Placards can be purchased on line for $20.00 on or before August 16th. Placards purchased August 17th and thereafter will be sold for $30.00.

Performing Arts:  Auditions and/or pre-requisites are required for some Performing Arts classes.

Physical Education Clothing:  P.E. apparel may be purchased online by clicking on the link above.  Once purchase is confirmed, you may print the receipt and submit it to your P.E. teacher on the first day of class to receive your PE clothing.

Seniors:  A senior packet with information on senior portraits, parking in the senior lot, and other specific “senior” information will be available toward the end of the summer.

Student Lunch Account:  You may add funds to your account on-line (cafeprepay.com) or at the Business Office during the school year.

Summer Reading   The lists of summer reading assignments by grade/teacher will be available by June 1.

Textbooks:  Middle School and High School textbook lists and ISBNs will be available by June.  For information on Digital Textbooks, please refer to the eBook Instructions available at the “Textbooks” link above.  Textbooks may be purchased from MBS Direct (mbsdirect.net) starting July 1st.  Textbooks may also be purchased from any other source utilizing the ISBN to make sure you are purchasing the correct edition.
