All new students in 2017-2018 will bring their own iPads.
• Minimum Required: iPad Air2 with 32GB;
• Minimum Recommended: iPad Pro 9.7” with 32 GB;
• These are minimums: any newer iPad or iPad Pro is acceptable.
Returning Students for 2017-2018: Existing students will have one full school year to transition to Bring Your Own iPad. For the 2017-2018 School Year, you may:
• Keep a school-issued iPad ($50 iPad Agreement/waiver necessary) for one more school year;
• Purchase your own iPad – see minimum requirements above.
If you are a returning student, you will have to pay your iPad waiver fee for this year, unless you choose to provide your own iPad. Re-issue of iPads will begin on August 1st, from 9:00 am to 11:30 am, and will continue until school begins, in the ARC.
For students bringing their own devices, we highly recommend purchasing protective hardware. You may purchase it from anywhere, but to help you, here is a link to a vendor who has customized a product list for our devices. Just enter “mvcs” for the Company Code.
This school year (2017-2018) there will be two available options: The Single Ride Bus Pass, and an Annual Bus Pass.
Option 1: Single Ride Bus Pass
For your convenience MVC offers as Single Ride Bus Pass for families who have students that are not part of an annual plan, yet occasionally need to ride the bus. Single Ride Bus Passes are a 2 step process.
Step 1 – Purchase of a 10 pack from the business office: this purchase may only be made by a parent or guardian as the purchase represents parental permission for the student to ride the bus. Students are not permitted to purchase the 10 pack. The cost of a 10 pack is $100. The card will be punched by the driver at the time of use for each 1 way ride until all 10 rides have been exhausted, at which point a new 10 pack may be purchased.
Step 2 - Parents must sign up their student for the appropriate pick up and drop off as needed. For your convenience you will be able to do this through a calendar on the MVC website, coming soon in July. Each day will have its own form. You are required to choose the stop for each individual ride. If parents fail to sign up their student for the appropriate route by 2:00 pm of that day (Monday through Thursday), or by noon on Fridays, access to the bus may be denied. Because signing up for the pick-up and drop off will represent parental/guardian permission for particular stops, students are not permitted to sign up in the calendar.
Option 2: Annual Bus Pass
There are many options available for the Annual Bus Pass. Pricing can be found here. To procure an annual pass, please use this link and fill out the form provided.
Only parents may purchase annual passes, because the purchase represents parental permission for the student to ride the bus. Students are not permitted to purchase annual passes. Part of the annual pass purchase is a choice of pick up and drop off points, which represent parental permission for particular stops.
We will once again be using Edtech as our book vendor. The digital “bookshelf” is not yet ready for purchasing, but we will announce it here when it is.

First Quarter elective requests can be made in FOCUS by grade level based strictly on this schedule:
Grade 8 = August 2-4

The link above (when posted) will take you to information on the selection process and a description of available electives (read them carefully - there are new ones!).
Students must have a vehicle parking permit in order to park on campus. An application for a parking permit is available at the business office (with a copy of a valid driver’s license); upon successful completion placards can be purchased at the business office for $20.00.
Physical Education Clothing
P.E. apparel may be purchased online or at the business office. Once the purchase is confirmed, your student must bring the receipt to his/her P.E. teacher on the first day of class to receive their PE clothing. All students enrolled in regular P.E. courses (not Strength and Conditioning, Health & Wellness) need to purchase P.E. apparel.
All families must be in compliance with California Immunization Requirements.
