Dawn Hoy

Dawn teaches Drama, Advanced Drama, Drama Workshop, Technical Production, and Drama Ministry at Monte Vista Christian School.


An experienced actor and director, she combines a background in psychology, science, theatre, education, and leadership to instruct and inspire young people through the dramatic arts. She is an energetic and hardworking individual with a keen eye for detail and a strong command of mentorship technique.


Dawn possesses a passion for the art of physical and visual storytelling, with an innovative approach to teaching life skills through the arts that is repeatedly recognized through evaluation and parental feedback.

Our classes provide the foundational knowledge necessary for a career in any theatrical field and practical experience in all areas of the industry from acting to tech to teaching. In addition to topical talents, our students are taught how to apply skills learned in class to other subjects and situations. MVCS Theatre Arts students are great public speakers, presenters and communicators; as well as responsible, reliable and hard-working individuals. Students who graduate after completing the program are not only prepared for college, they are prepared for life.


The MVCS Theatre Arts Department offers the following classes:

  • Entertainment Technology - High School levels 1, 2, 3 and 4
  • Middle School Drama
