Worthy Servant Fund for Teachers - DEADLINE EXTENDED!
There is still time to give a tax-deductible Christmas blessing to faculty and Residence Life staff!
We have extended the deadline for the 2017 Worthy Servant Fund in order to ensure that all interested families have a chance to participate.
Donations (made online or via check) must be given no later than next Tuesday, December 12. Please contact Nikki Daniels with questions or for more information.

Middle School Christmas Performances
Come see our middle school choir, concert band and worship team share their "Joy To The World" Christmas concert on Wednesday, December 13. Shows are at 4:30 pm and 7:00 pm in the Studio MVC Theatre. Reserve your free tickets.

High School Instrumental Arts Concert
Enjoy an evening of instrumental music from our high school students on Friday, December 15 at 6:30 pm in the Studio MVC Theatre. Light refreshments will be served following the concert.

MVC’s Outdoor Student Center - Come Set the Stage with Us...
Can you picture it? The heart of our campus transformed into a vibrant outdoor space where our students grow and thrive? Please consider including MVC in your year-end giving plans by supporting the Outdoor Student Center and naming a portion of the facility in honor or in memory of someone special. Gifts can be made online, via postal mail, or in person at the Business Office, and questions can be directed to Nikki Daniels.

MVC Choirs in "Light and Life" at Twin Lakes Church
Join Studio MVC Choirs as they perform with Twin Lakes Church in their Christmas Spectacular, “Light and Life.” Our students will be singing in all eight performances at Twin Lakes Church in Aptos:

  • Friday, December 8 at 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm
  • Saturday, December 9 at 3:00 pm, 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm
  • Sunday, December 10 at 11:00 am, 3:00 pm and 5:30 pm

Advanced Choir Pre-Performance Appearance at the 2017 Nutcracker Suite
MVC's Advanced Choir will perform Christmas carols to welcome guests attending Agape Dance Academy's 2017 Nutcracker Suite. Performances will take place on Saturday, December 16 (2:00 pm and 7:00 pm) and Sunday, December 17 (1:30 pm and 4:30 pm) at the Mello Center for the Performing Arts in Watsonville. Tickets range from $16 to $25 and can be purchased online.

Interested in Hosting a “Winter” or “Spring” Family Gathering?
Our Fall Family Gatherings have been a tremendous opportunity for our school family to build relationships and grow together. Fall may technically be over, but we would love to hold some Winter (or even Spring!) Family Gatherings in your area. If you are interested in hosting, please contact Rochelle Flosi.

High School

Special Bell Schedule
There will be no chapel on Monday, December 11. There will be a special Performing Arts Chapel on Thursday, December 14. Both Monday and Thursday will have a special bell schedule. Please note that there is no FLEX on Thursday and school starts for all HS students at 8:10 am on Monday and Thursday.


HS Finals Week
Finals are December 18 - 21. There will be a revised schedule with early release on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.


Winter Ball
Winter Ball will take place on Saturday, January 27 at the Tech Museum in San Jose. Tickets can be purchased online or in the Business Office.


Looking for Professional Guest Speakers
The College and Career Exploration class is looking for those in various professions to come in and share about their work and educational background, as well as current workplace experience. This would be a 30-40 minute commitment during 1st period one Friday in the 2nd semester. Contact Scott Nystrom if you're interested.

Middle School

Egyptian Museum Field Trip - 6th Grade
On Wednesday, December 13, the 6th grade students will be attending a field trip to the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum and Planetarium in San Jose. No lunch will be provided at the museum. Students will need to bring their own lunch that day. We will leave school at 8:30 am sharp and return by 2:30 pm. Students will then attend their 7th period elective.


MS Finals Week
Finals week is December 18-21. There will be a revised schedule with early release on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.


Electives for 3rd Quarter
Elective registration for 3rd quarter will begin on Tuesday, December 12 for the 6th grade. Please read the instructions for grade level registration dates and elective descriptions.

Senior Trip
Just a reminder that $300 is now due for the Senior trip. Please contact the Business Office by Monday, December 11 to be up-to-date on payments. The final payment of $289 will be due on Friday, January 19.


Cabrillo College Running Start
Seniors, are you thinking about attending Cabrillo College? Enroll now and sign-up for Running Start. This provides graduating high school seniors from Santa Cruz County priority registration for Fall classes. Contact your Guidance Counselor for more information.


CSF Pennies for Patients
Pennies for Patients boxes are due on Wednesday, December 13. Drop-off boxes are in various classrooms or Student Services.


Juniors
Second semester is the time to think about SAT and/or ACT registration. Please contact Student Services for more information or visit ACT.org or Collegeboard.org/sat.


Seniors
Be sure to check in with your guidance counselor concerning upcoming college deadlines before leaving for Christmas break.

Open House - This Sunday
As part of the MVC family, you know that from the moment you step onto campus, this school is different. Invite family and friends to experience the difference for themselves this Sunday at OPEN HOUSE from 1:00 - 3:00 pm! Visitors will sample our learning in action, enjoy our students, meet teachers, taste our delicious food, and even take home a souvenir or two. Please remind them to RSVP.

Parents in Morgan Hill - Join Us Monday Night!
All MVC parents are invited to join Dr. Salerno and other MVC leaders at the upcoming Fall Family Gathering in Morgan Hill on Monday, December 5 at 7:00 pm. Contact Rochelle Flosi to RSVP and receive details about the location.

Christmas Blessing for MVC Teachers - OPPORTUNITY ENDS TUESDAY!
MVC families can bless faculty and Residence Life staff members by making a tax-deductible gift to the Worthy Servant Fund. This is a great alternative to purchasing individual gifts for teachers and staff. Donations (made online or via check) must be given no later than next Tuesday, December 5, as they will go directly to faculty and Residence Life staff before Christmas break. Thank You for Participating in MVC’s Parent Survey
A huge thank-you to each of you who gave of your time to participate in our MVC parent survey earlier this month. We are pleased to report that we had enough respondents to render our data statistically significant, and look forward to sharing what we learned and how we plan to incorporate the findings into future plans in the months to come.

High School

Winter Ball
Winter Ball will take place on January 27 at the Tech Museum in San Jose. Tickets will go on sale starting Monday, December 4 and will be sold online or at the Business Office.


IMPACT
IMPACT registration is closed and there are some fun and enriching activities for your students! If your student registered for a class with an associated fee, the fee links were emailed. Please pay those fees by Monday, December 4, as many of our classes have waiting lists.


Special Bell Schedule

Senior Yearbook Quotes
Each senior will have a quote by their photo in the yearbook. This should not be their own quote, but a quote by someone they look up to/admire, or a Bible verse. Seniors received an email about this. Please remind your student to submit these to Jennifer Legue.

Middle School

Middle School Play Day
On December 1, the entire middle school will have the opportunity to celebrate the end of the semester by going to see the movie, Wonder, and then return to school for fun activities until the end of the day. We will take MVC buses to Green Valley Cinema at 9:00 am and return in time for lunch at approximately 11:30 am.
Upon returning from the movie on Friday, December 1, there will be a Christmas Carnival in the afternoon. Please read this letter to parents for information on ways you may be able to help by volunteering or providing items for this fun-filled holiday event.

Middle School Sports Tryouts and Paperwork
Tryouts for girls volleyball and boys flag football begin Tuesday, January 16. Allathletic paperwork must be completed and turned in to Kira Tellez in the Athletics Office in the ARC before tryouts. Please contact Kira Tellez with any questions.


High School Spring Sports Tryouts and Paperwork
Tryouts for spring sports begin Monday, January 29. All athletics paperwork must be completed and turned in to Kira Tellez (not the coaches) in the Athletics Office in the ARC before tryouts. Contact Kira Tellez with any questions.
