While it's great that we were the first school in the world to put iPads into the classroom, and it's great that we are now considered leaders in Educational Technology, ultimately, it is not about the tech. It's about the learning and all the ways that technology empowers meaningful, collaborative, creative, and unforgettable learning experiences.iPad News

As we look ahead, we will be transitioning our iPad program to a Bring Your Own iPad in the 2018-2019 School Year.
All students attending MVC for the 2018-2019 school year will be required to bring their own iPads. We can't know how long a particular model will be supported and continue to receive updates, but based upon what we have seen so far, the models below under "minimum required" should receive each for 3 or possibly more years. The iPad you use for school will always need to be capable of running the latest iOS version. It's always best to purchase a newer model, as it could mean multiple years of extra usability, in addition to smoother and more stable operation. New iPad models typically have been released in March or early April (although that is subject to change), so we would really recommend waiting until then to make your purchase.
Minimum required for a new iPad purchase for the 2018-2019 school year :
iPad Pro 9.7" 128GB (2016) or larger storage capacity
iPad 128GB (5th Generation- 2017)
iPad Pro 10.5" 64GB (2017) or larger storage capacity
iPad Pro 12.9" 64GB (2nd Generation- 2017) or larger storage capacity
Minimum recommended for existing iPad owners:
iPad Pro 12.9" 32GB (2015) and the models listed above
