While it's great that we were the first school in the world to put iPads into the classroom, and it's great that we are now considered leaders in Educational Technology, ultimately, it is not about the tech. It's about the learning and all the ways that technology empowers meaningful, collaborative, creative, and unforgettable learning experiences.

At MVC, we have a Bring Your Own iPad program. Here is some useful information.
MVC's Apple Custom Store
You can shop for your Apple purchases through our Apple Custom Store and receive a small discount. Be sure to check the requirements below for your iPad purchase.
MVC's iPad & Electronic Device Acceptable Use Policy
Please read MVC's Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). The document contains common questions and answers as well as guidelines concerning iPads, followed by a note to parents and a glossary of terms for your convenience.
All students attending MVC for the 2020-2021 school year will be required to bring their own iPads. We can't know how long a particular model will be supported and continue to receive updates, but based upon what we have seen so far, the models below under "Minimum required for a new iPad purchase..." should receive each for 3 or possibly more years. The iPad you use for school will always need to be capable of running the latest iOS version. It's always best to purchase a newer model, as it could mean multiple extra years of usability, in addition to smoother and more stable operation.
Minimum required (or newer) for a new iPad purchase for the 2020-2021 school year:
iPad 9.7" (8th Generation- 2020) 128GB
iPad 9.7" (7th Generation- 2019) 128GB
iPad 9.7" (6th Generation- 2018) 128GB
iPad Air 10.9" (4rd Generation- 2020) any storage capacity, but 256GB preferred
iPad Air 10.5" (3rd Generation- 2019) any storage capacity
iPad Pro 11" or 12.9" (4th Generation- 2020) 128GB or greater storage capacity
iPad Pro 11" or 12.9" (3rd Generation- 2018) 128GB or greater storage capacity
Minimum required for existing iPad owners:
Although 32GB is the minimum, you will most likely run into storage issues at some point. The 128GB or greater models of the following would be recommended for school use:
iPad 9.7" (5th Generation- 2017) 32GB
iPad Pro 10.5" (2nd Generation- 2017) 64GB or larger storage capacity
iPad Pro 12.9" (2nd Generation- 2017) any storage capacity
