Taking Flight

Taking Flight Taking Flight is our student and parent orientation is required for all students and parents new to MVC (including all incoming Freshmen). Check-in begins each day at 7:45 am and the program runs from 8:20 am - 12:45 pm. There will be a free lunch for parents, and students will use their lunch account. The campus will be open during the afternoon for parents and students to visit the ARC (tech support), the Business Office (student accounts), and Student Services (guidance counselors). We hope your family will leave this event feeling supported, connected, prepared, confident, and excited to be part of our MVC family.

2019-2020 Bell Schedule


Textbook Bundle Purchase - Beginning Thursday, August 1, our online store for textbooks will open. On that day, an email will be sent to all MVC families with information regarding purchasing and activating your student's textbook bundle (a single price for your child’s textbooks). Students who have purchased the bundle will receive the physical textbooks during the first week of school. Be sure to check your email for this important information.


Emergency/Medical Information - It is necessary to update each student's medical/emergency information annually by logging in to your parent portal of Focus (MVC's student information system). By August 1, detailed instructions will be provided as updates must be completed by August 12.


iPads - All students attending MVC bring their own iPads. Please refer to the information on our Technology page for specifications.


MVC Gear Store - Open Now! - We are excited to announce a limited time Mustang Gear Store that will be open from Tuesday, July 9 - Wednesday, July 24. Do not miss this great opportunity to get some sweet MVC gear for a great deal before the school year kicks off! The access code is KajHZnvzYSa. If you have any questions regarding the store, feel free to contact Assistant Athletic Director, Ryan Van Den Heuvel.


School Lunch Accounts - Students may purchase breakfast and lunch in the Cafe using their mySchoolBucks account. New student accounts in mySchoolBucks will be established beginning August 1. Instructions for how to do this will be listed in the July 25 Mustang Flyer.


Transportation - Routes and rates for the 2019-2020 school year will be available on our the Transportation page of the MVC website beginning May 1. Bus registration must be completed by August 1, but ridership is guaranteed on a first come, first served basis. Families are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible. Confirmed route and stop assignments will be issued the week of August 5 to allow families time to plan and prepare for the start of school on Wednesday, August 14.


Carpooling - Families interested in connecting with potential carpool partners for the 2019-2020 school year can fill out this form anytime before Wednesday, August 1. Lists of names/email addresses will be shared with families by region the week of August 5 to allow time to connect prior to the first day of school on Wednesday, August 14.


High School

Course Schedule - You may access Focus (MVC's student information system) to view your course schedule in July. New families will receive an email with their access codes and instructions. Please contact your guidance counselor with any questions regarding your specific schedule or four-year plan.

Middle School


Course Schedule - You may access Focus (MVC's student information system) to view your course schedule by August 1. New families will receive an email with their access codes. Please know that schedules are subject to change and you should check back on August 12 to confirm final placements.


Elective Registration - Middle School Electives are offered during 7th period. A list of exciting options and information on registering for your elective will be available in the Mustang Flyer by Thursday, July 25.


Middle School Supply Lists - 6th Grade, 7th Grade, 8th Grade


Horsemanship - Are you interested in taking Horsemanship for PE in 2019-2020? Horsemanship participants register online with Belmont Stables to begin the process. Please email Principal Medina ASAP, too, in order to accurately reflect that desire on your student schedule. In order to allow time to process all necessary paperwork before school starts, please initiate registration before July 1.


P.E. Uniforms - All Middle School students enrolled in Physical Education will need to wear a designated PE uniform. Purchases must be made through our MVC 2019 My Team Shop, which will be open beginning today, Thursday, July 11 through Thursday, July 25. Please note that there is only a two-week window to order. This will ensure on-time delivery to the school no later than Monday, August 19. A uniform shirt and shorts are mandatory for PE. However, if students wear a sweatshirt and/or sweatpants, each must also be part of the MVC uniform. Visit the online store today! Middle School Family Picnic - All Middle School families are invited to join us on Saturday, August 24 from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm for a Middle School Family Picnic on the quad. Bring a blanket and a picnic for your family to enjoy. MVC will provide beverages and sweet treats, as well as the pool and other fun activities for the whole family.


Middle School Beach Day - If you are interested in volunteering for the upcoming Middle School Beach Day at Sunset Beach on Wednesday, August 28 from 10:00 am* - 1:30 pm, please email Carissa Medina. Volunteer opportunities will include barbecuing, setting up and serving lunch, and clean-up.
*Students are asked to arrive at school at the regular start time.


Boarding/International

Residence Life Orientation - New students plan to arrive on Monday, August 5 for orientation into our Residence Life Community. We cannot wait to welcome you!

Athletics

2019-2020 MVC Mustang Club - Mustang fans of all ages - parents, grandparents, and friends - can support athletics at MVC by joining the Mustang Club for the 2019-2020 school year. Different membership levels have different "perks," including passes to regular season home athletic events and exclusive MVC gear. Early bird sign-ups will open up this summer; watch future Mustang Flyers for updates!

Fine Arts

2019-2020 Studio MVC Club - Arts patrons who love MVC can support fine arts on our campus by joining the Studio MVC Club for the 2019-2020 school year. Different membership levels have different "perks," including season passes to performances and exclusive MVC gear. Early-bird sign-ups will open up this summer; watch future Mustang Flyers for updates!


MVC Band Camp - MVC is hosting its first ever Band Camp from Monday, July 29 - Friday, August 2 for all middle and high school students! Students will learn how to read music, how to play an instrument, and are guaranteed to have extreme fun making new friends! It will be held from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm right here on campus, and breakfast and lunch will be provided. We are also in need of high school group leaders and volunteers.
