Parents, Save-the-Date for YOUR Chance to Meet the Teachers - Now that classes have begun, parents can save-the-date for the chance to walk through your student's schedule and meet their teachers yourself! High School Back to School Night is Wednesday, August 26 and Middle School Back to School Night is Wednesday, September 2; watch future Mustang Flyers for exact times and how to access teacher Zoom links. Faculty members will share instructions those evenings regarding when/how to arrange family-specific meetings as needed throughout the school year.
2020 - 21 Bell Schedule - For your reference, please see the Level 4 Bell Schedule as we enter the new school year following this timetable. This document may help answer any Level 4 Bell Schedule questions you have.

2020-2021 Parent/Student Handbook - Families will want to familiarize themselves with this year's Parent/Student Handbook. Be sure to review the sections that cover our dress code, code of conduct, and iPad/Electronics Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). Keep in mind that for this school year, our policies and procedures are subject to the specifications outlined in MVC's Reopening Plan as well as the Parent/Student Handbook.
Emergency Card/Medical Information - All MVC students are required to have updated emergency/medical information in Focus each year. Please refer to these instructions to update/input this important information. Parents can log in with their parent credentials, complete, sign, and date the Emergency Card.
iPads/Technology - All students attending MVC bring their own iPads. Please refer to the information on our Technology page for specifications. Please pay particular attention to MVC's Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for answers to common questions and guidelines concerning iPads.
Cafe Account - Students may purchase all meals and snacks on campus in the Cafe using their mySchoolBucks account. Instructions for how to do this will be listed in the Mustang Flyer soon.
Parent Volunteer Information - Parents interested in volunteering or chaperoning various trips and activities throughout the year will need to have a background check completed through the Live Scan process. In August, please bring a copy of your driver’s license and this completed form. A $30.00 fee will be due to the Business Office at the time of your scan. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Brianna Jaquez in the Business Office at 831-768-6118.
Transportation - Routes and rates for the 2020-2021 school year are on our Transportation Department web page. Bus ridership is guaranteed on a first-come, first-served basis, so families are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible. Please contact Transportation Manager Kenneth Rothhammer with questions.
Subscribe to MVC's Online Calendar - Students, parents, and all Mustang fans are encouraged to use these step-by-step instructions to subscribe to whichever portion(s) of the online MVC calendar is/are most helpful. Events can be added directly to your personal calendar! Options include athletics teams, clubs, fine arts groups, and much more.
Course Schedule - Please have your student look over their schedule in Focus. Over the next week or so, periods and teachers may change, but students should confirm their courses are correct. They can contact their guidance counselor with any questions. Visit the Student Services page on our website for a list of counselors and their assigned students (scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the + below their name).
High School Textbooks - Student textbook fees will be billed this year through your student's FACTS account in two installments of $120. The two withdrawals will take place mid-August and again in mid-October, for a total High School book fee of $240. Instructions on how to access textbooks for all MVC students can be found here. Please keep in mind that not all courses use textbooks and some materials will be distributed by the teacher at a later date.
High School Drive-Through Textbook and Supply Pickup Event
We want students to have the tools they need for learning! Therefore, all High School students will need to attend one of two drive-through events to pick up class textbooks and/or supplies. All students will have English books to pick up. Depending on your student’s class schedules, students may also need to pick up art supplies, musical instruments, science supplies, etc. Your student’s teacher will inform them if they have supplies to pick up for their class. Pick-up times will be on Friday, August 21 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm and Saturday, August 22 from 8:00 am – 11:00 am. In order to streamline the process, please display a white 8 x 10 paper on the dashboard with your student’s last name and grade written in bold marker as well as their course schedule printed out or available on a device. Drive through the main MVC entrance and follow instructions given by faculty and staff. In keeping with health and safety protocols, please remain in your vehicle, helping us make the pickup efficient and safe for all. We prefer students and/or their parents pick up their own supplies, but if you are unable to make it during the specified times and need another student/family to pick up for you, please email Amy Coleman with your student’s name and who you have designated to pick up your student’s materials.
Who's Who in the Middle School - As we welcome both new and returning teachers, we want to introduce you to Who's Who in the Middle School. Also, as we begin to align with the International Baccalaureate framework for learning, you will see some name changes to Middle School courses. We are excited about these updates and for the year to come.
Middle School Textbooks
Student textbook fees will be billed this year through your student's FACTS account in two installments of $70. The two withdrawals will take place mid-August and again in mid-October, for a total Middle School book fee of $140. Instructions on how to access textbooks for all MVC students can be found here. Please keep in mind that not all courses use textbooks and some materials will be distributed by the teacher at a later date.
Middle School Drive-Through Supply Pickup Event
We want students to have the tools they need for learning! Therefore, we are offering two drive-through events to pick up class supplies for certain courses. Middle School students enrolled in Makerspace, Art, or Ceramics will need to pick up supplies. Pick-up times will be on Friday, August 21 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm and Saturday, August 22 from 8:00 am – 11:00 am. In order to streamline the process, please display a white 8 x 10 paper on the dashboard with your student’s last name and grade written in bold marker. Drive through the main MVC entrance and follow instructions given by faculty and staff. In keeping with health and safety protocols, please remain in your vehicle, helping us make the pickup efficient and safe for all. We prefer students and/or their parents pick up their own supplies, but if you are unable to make it during the specified times and need another student/family to pick up for you, please email Melissa Morales with your student’s name and who you have designated to pick up your student’s materials.
PE Uniforms - All Middle School students enrolled in PE must wear either their own athletic wear (within dress code) or an MVC PE uniform. Details regarding what PE will include this year, due to current health regulations, will be forthcoming. For questions regarding uniforms, contact PE Instructor Don Keathley or Middle School Principal Carissa Medina.
MS Language Acquisition Courses - Spanish - In keeping with MVC’s mission and in alignment with the IB framework for learning, all Middle School students will be enrolled in a Language Acquisition (Spanish) course as part of their eight period schedule. Language Acquisition aims to develop an understanding of other languages and cultures, and is equally designed to equip the student with a skill base to facilitate further language learning in the upper grades. We believe this opportunity will prepare students for both college and career, as well as provide students a means to further engage in their communities. See the course descriptions for more information.
Middle School Supply Lists - Supply lists for 6th Grade, 7th Grade, and 8th Grade are now available.
Horsemanship - Are you interested in taking Horsemanship for PE in 2020 - 21? Horsemanship participants register online with Belmont Stables to begin the process. Please email Principal Medina ASAP, too, in order to accurately reflect that desire on your student schedule.
Athletics Paperwork - Please make sure that you have all athletics paperwork completely filled out on Final Forms. Register now and electronically complete ALL forms!
Athletics Update - While there are still questions that remain, we are thrilled to see that CIF, as well as CCS, has decided to move forward with interscholastic athletic competition by announcing CIF regional and state championship dates along with start and playoff dates for CCS. The next step is for PCAL to begin the process of redrawing league schedules for all sports. As we get updates, we will be sure to let you know. You can view the CCS press release here.
