Dear MVC Parents,
I’m writing to share an exciting update. Over the past few years, parents, faculty, and students alike have expressed a desire to see a cohesive 6-12 educational program at MVC. We all agree we need a model that will propel our mission forward, keep Christ central, and unify our educational philosophy and pedagogy.
Using these filters, administrators and faculty have identified the International Baccalaureate (IB) program as an internationally recognized model that uniquely satisfies all of our criteria and expectations. You can learn more about our exploration process in the attached document.
As we now consider IB through a formal application process and IB considers MVC as a candidate school, we want to update you, our school family. Some important items to note:
- The earliest MVC could receive authorization is August 2021; the first class with the opportunity to earn an IB diploma would be the Class of 2023 (current eighth graders)
- Should MVC be authorized as an IB school, we would host a Vision Night in the spring for current and prospective families to learn more about IB at MVC.
- For more information about IB, you can explore their website, or join me, and members of our leadership team, on Tuesday, December 18 for a Q&A session (either in Stotts-Hellman at 8:00 am or the ARC at 6:30 pm).
We are certain that in this next chapter, God will continue to give us the wisdom to thrive, adapt, and innovate, making MVC a leader and a light in our community and around the world -- all for the sake of Christ.
